Emily’s paintings are expressions of the human experience. She gathers her brushes and paints with wonder and great anticipation. Light and reflection serve as inspiration for Emily’s watercolors.

Ohio was her home growing up, with summers spent in northern Michigan. After graduating from Albion College in Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art, Emily discovered her artistic connection with God when she studied watercolor at Eastern Michigan University.

During the late 1980s, Emily earned her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Houston. She was privileged to be present with people in their suffering, in their struggling, in their hope and in their healing. It was out of this profession that Emily was given the strength to express the depths of
human emotion through her paintings.
